A mediados de Julio tendremos
un taller de escultura textil por Josune García.
En el curso Escultura
textil: geometría y ganchillo, los alumnos aprenderán a desarrollar
volúmenes geométricos básicos y complejos, para ser realizados en ganchillo.
Presentación de materiales y herramientas, así como, de esculturas textiles de
artistas varios, iniciación a técnicas simples de ganchillo, construcción de
volúmenes y experimentación.
Anotación para ayudar al
alumno a elegir los materiales: Durante el taller, no se realizarán obras de
grandes dimensiones por una cuestión de tiempo, sino piezas pequeñas o
medianas. El objetivo del curso es experimentar e investigar creando volúmenes
y estructuras. El objetivo no es acabar una obra de gran formato en tres días,
sino aprender a hacerla.
¿Quién
es la profesora?
Josune García (1972, Bilbao) estudió Diseño
Industrial, en Barcelona. Fue socia fundadora de El plan B, gabinete de diseño, a quienes en el año 2004 se les
concedió el Premio de Rehabilitación
arquitectónica otorgado por el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao. Organizó del certamen artístico BLV Art, en Bilbao, en el año 2009. Ha colaborado en el libro Txapelpixel, editorial Blur, 2010. También ha participado en acciones de Yarn Bombing en
su ciudad junto con otros artistas.
Su interés por el arte textil le viene casi por casualidad y consigue aprender de una forma autodidacta. De una manera inevitable, acaba mezclando su formación en diseño con el arte textil, lo que le lleva a investigar la tridimensionalidad y descubre que el mundo se puede reproducir con un hilo y una aguja. Lo que más le fascina del ganchillo es la capacidad de crear un universo entero a partir de materiales sencillos, baratos y cotidianos.

A un amigo
suyo, a los tres años de edad su hermano le cortó el dedo índice con un hacha.
Treinta años después, Josune le hizo una flamante prótesis de ganchillo.

Material facilitado por la
profesora: Apuntes para el alumno. Relleno para las
esculturas.
Material aportado por el
alumno: Una aguja de ganchillo de un grosor mínimo de
5mm, 100 g. de algodón (o lana u otros materiales con los que quieras
experimentar) de un grosor superior a la aguja de ganchillo, una aguja de
coser lana. Opcional: Una aguja de ganchillo de las gruesas y
"trapillo" de los chinos para probar. Bocetos con posibles ideas a realizar.
Conocimientos
previos/habilidades requeridas al estudiante para un óptimo aprovechamiento del
curso: Ninguna.
A quién va dirigido: A
cualquiera. Aunque puede ser una herramienta útil para artistas y diseñadores.
Diploma: Obtendrás un papel
firmado por la profesora y la dirección que diga hiciste este taller.

de la tarde. Con una hora de descanso para comer.

We
will have a textile sculpture workshop in the middle of July -at Calle Mayor 54-, by Josune
García.
In Textile sculpture: geometry & crochet,
students will learn how to develop crochet simple and complex geometric volumes.
Materials and tools introduction, textile sculpture artists, introduction to
simple crochet techniques, experimentation and volume construction.
Note (to help students to choose materials): During the
workshop the student will not have the time to create big size sculptures, but
medium or small size. The objective of the course is experimentation and volume
construction research. The purpose of the workshop is not to complete a big
piece, but learn how to plan and develop it.
About the lecturer:
Josune
García (1972, Bilbao) studied Industrial
Design in Barcelona. She was co-founder

Her interest in textile art
was casual, learning by herself. At the end, she mixes her industrial
design knowledge with textile art. This fact conducts her to research
tridimensionality, discovering the world can be recreated by a thread and a
needle. What fascinates her the most about crochet, it is the ability to build
a whole universe from simple, cheap and common materials.
A friend of her lost his forefinger at the
age of three. His brother chopped it with an axe. Thirty years later Josune
made him an elegant crochet replacement.
Type of workshop: A practical workshop.
Material provided by the teacher: A handout and filling material.
Material provided by the student: A crochet
hook (At least 5 mm), cotton 100g (Or wool, or other materials you would like to
experiment with. The thread should be thicker than the crochet hook), a needle
to sew wool. Optional: A thick crochet hook and "trapillo" to give a
try, sketches with some ideas to develop.
Previous knowledge/abilities/skills
required to the student for an optimal academic progress: None.
